The
concept of AMAN revolves around information sharing, mutual understanding
and identifying areas of common interests for participating navies with
emphasis on maritime security operations, anti terrorist operations and
humanitarian assistance operation. Based on this, the Exercise seeks to
develop and improve Response Tactics, Techniques, and procedures (RTTP) for
protection of SLOCs and maritime infrastructure, assets and forces against
traditional and non traditional threats.

OBJECTIVES
Exercise
objectives are:

Refine
Command, control and communication procedures and tactics.
·
Improve
inter-operability and tactical proficiency.
·
Practice
operations against non traditional threats like boarding operation, SAR
drill etc.
·
Conduct
defense of maritime infrastructure including anchorage against an
asymmetric threat.
 
·
Develop
common tactics against asymmetric air, surface, and mine threats
·
Promote ASuW / Air operations and its related
interoperability between the participating units.
·
Demonstration of MCM capabilities through conduct
of MCM operations in a potentially hostile air and surface environment.
·
Practice
operations like main disposal/ EOD/ATT/ Salvage activities etc for the
workup of SOF teams
·
Integration
of MPAs and Fighters into various types of exercises.
