Chief of the Naval Staff:

Admiral Noman Bashir NI(M)

Pakistan is a peace loving country that believes in promotion of peace and stability, for which freedom of navigation on high seas and uninterrupted flow of trade is an essential requirement.  As 97% of Pakistan’s trade is transported through the sea, freedom of navigation on high seas is sine qua non for our national progress. Being custodian of the country’s maritime interests, Pakistan Navy (PN) will continue to play its due role for safeguarding these interests.  PN is a balanced force, capable of undertaking combat, constabulary and benign operations in our area of interest. PN Fleet is supported by an effective command, control, communications, logistics and training infrastructure.  I am privileged to be the head of such a fine Service, which over the years has evolved into a professional and efficient force.

The contemporary era is characterised by interdependence and the need to work collectively for peace and stability.  In the maritime context, we need to work together with our friends and coalition partners to ensure freedom of seas.  PN will remain committed, in accordance with national policies, to play its due role in the maritime domain and will continue to contribute significantly to regional maritime security.
