DO'S AND DON'TS

 

1.         Don'ts in Officers Mess:           Please do not:

 

a.         Allow any lady to visit the bachelor officers' quarters of the Officers Mess.

 

b.         Visit Mess with sandals/shorts (half pants) etc.  during the afternoon, i.e prior to games.  One is permitted to visit in the officers' mess with shorts, sports vests and sports Shoes (game dress) for tea.  This relaxation is available till sunset only.

 

c.         Keep/bring any pet.

 

d.         Discuss controversial subjects like politics etc.

 

e.         Eat/smoke in close vicinity of those who are fasting during the holy month of Ramzan.

 

f.          Keep cash/valuables unattended or unlocked.

 

g.         Drink tap water.  It is not safe.

 

2.         Gifts.        You are requested not to embarrass the staff by giving any gifts.  At the end of the course, officers from friendly countries are allowed to exchange gifts provided they are of military nature (crest or any antique which represents the armed forces or national culture).

 

3.         Gambling.       Gambling of all kinds is forbidden.

 

4.         In the Office.        Please do not:

 

a.         Fail to show respect to your senior officers at all times.

 

b.         Indulge in criticism of staff and student officers.

 

c.         Bring ladies and children to the college complex during working hours unless programmed.

 

5.         Dress and Turn Out.              Please do not:

 

a.         Neglect your turn out.  Be properly/correctly dressed in all College activities.

 

b.         Allow your hair to grow long.

 

6.         In Public.         Please do not:

 

a.         Walk arm in arm or hand in hand with ladies.

 

b.         Eat/smoke during the holy month of Ramzan.

 

c.         Visit public places in shorts (half pants).

 

d.         Go out without your identity card.

 

e.         Drive without your driving licence with you.

 

7.         Invitation from Foreign Nationals/Organizations.    Please do not accept invitation from foreign nationals/organizations directly.  Seek advice of your DS when you or your family is approached directly for such invitation.

 

8.         Dos At the Airport.            Please do:

 

a.         Respect the immigration/customs rules.

 

b.         Seek the advice of a customs officer/immigration officer when in doubt.

 

c.         Complete baggage damage/loss report forms if your baggage is damaged or lost before leaving the arrival lounge.

 

d.         Take care of your baggage/valuables at the airport and do not leave it unattended.

 

9.         When in Problem/Difficulty.  Please do:

 

a.         Seek the assistance of Civil/Naval/Military police.

 

b.         Call the College authorities, College Secy, DS(P) or Syndicate DS.

  c.         Always keep the telephones numbers of the above with you.
