Marks of Respect. During syndicate discussions/work, no mark of respect is required to be paid to Commandant/Deputy Commandant.
Conduct in Lecture Hall. Following rules are to be observed in the Lecture Hall:
a. Members are to be seated according to the seating plan, displayed on the Notice Board, 5 minutes before start of the Lecture.
b. Members are to rise when the Guest Speaker enters/leaves.
c. The nominated course member is to introduce the Guest Speaker. In his welcoming remarks, he is to state the relevance of lecture to the current phase, mention the lecturer's credentials and refer to the title and scope of the lecture. On completion of the lecture and Q/A session, Sponsor DS is to thank the Guest Speaker for the lecture.
d. All speakers are to be addressed as sir/madam, irrespective of their status. Officers present in the lecture hall are referred to by rank and name.
e. Names of the previous speakers are not to be mentioned while referring to their talk/lecture. A lecturer's personal opinion is not to be quoted/discussed outside the College.
f. Member is to stand up, speak out his rank and name and then ask questions, which are relevant to the topic.
g. Member can ask one question. If required, a supplementary question may be asked. However, discussion with the guest speaker is to be avoided.
h. Red light signal indicates the end of Questions/Answers session.
Distribution Number. A rubber stamp bearing respective allotted distribution number is issued to each member by the Training Chief. The submitted written work is to bear this stamp number on the face of the document. This rubber stamp is to be returned at the end of the course.
Use of Ink. Only navy blue or black ink is to be used by the members while submitting written solutions. Use of ball pens and coloured inks is not permitted.
Guests. Guests of the course members are not permitted to visit during working hours except with the prior approval of the Deputy Commandant through the Syndicate DS.
Appointment of Course Members and Duties. Course members are appointed for the following responsibilities:
a. Senior Student. The Senior student is normally the senior PN Officer of the course. The principal functions of the Senior Student are as under:
(1) Liaise between the course members and College Staff on matters of personal administration.
(2) Convene and chair meeting of members as and when required. Ensure discipline among course members.
(3) Maintain a scrap book on social and sports activities of the course; which may help in compiling the College Review.
(4) Resolve administrative problems of Course Members (particularly of allied officers) in coordination with the admin staff of the College.
b. Course Coordinator. An officer generally nominated by the Senior Student acts as Course Coordinator. The Course Coordinator assists the Senior Student in administrative duties.
c. Syndicate Leader. One member is nominated as syndicate leader for each syndicate. Syndicate leader is changed after each term. The duties of a syndicate leader are:
(1) Liaise between the members and the staff on matters relating to syndicate activities or administration.
(2) Custodian of instructional material issued to the syndicate.
(3) Ensure security of documents.
(4) Ensure availability of material required for syndicate activities.
d. Sports Secretary. Duties are:
(1) Coordinate all sports activities.
(2) Assist Sponsor DS.
(3) Organize teams and hold practice.
e. Social Secretary. Duties are:
(1) Assist Sponsor DS for Social Activities.
(2) Recommend social events in consultation with course members.
(3) Keep the environment and atmosphere of the course lively and vibrant with social programmes.
f. Editor College Review. Duties of Editor of the College Review are:
(1) Collect articles from course members for College Review.
(2) Assist Chief Editor in the publication.
g. Nazim-e-Salat. Nazim-e-Salat is to coordinate prayers arrangements.
